Gulf War Project

Supporting Research and Treatment for the over 210,000 Veterans diagnosed with ‘Gulf War Illness’

Gulf War Project was established in 2017 by Gulf War Veterans. Beyond funding continued research of Gulf War Illness, the Project provides an education opportunity to our most severely wounded veterans facing challenges transitioning back to the civilian workforce.

Gulf War Project is a partnership between Veterans Investing Inc. and Boston University Medical Research Center. The project is about improving the lives of our disabled veterans. With a multifaceted approach, we strive to eliminate the alarming veteran suicide rate (21 veteran suicides per day) as well as reduce veteran unemployment and homelessness rates. Through a comprehensive online training program (Veterans Investing University) we teach and then mentor veterans in real estate investing. We show our veterans a way to start their own business and provide for their families, despite any disabilities.  We get our disabled veterans working, restore their sense of purpose and improve their quality of life. We call our process “Post-Traumatic Growth.”

Through entrepreneurship, we teach and mentor our disabled veterans, while generating funding for Gulf War Illness research. Dr. Kimberly Sullivan and her staff at BU medical research center are on the leading edge of this research and one of only two locations worldwide that are working to find a cure for a condition that afflicts over 210,000 veterans from the first Gulf War.

Gulf War Project accomplishes three main goals, teaching and mentoring (Veterans Investing University) our most severely disabled veterans to get them working and self-sufficient again, provide housing opportunities for our homeless veterans as well as generating consistent funding for Gulf War Illness research at Boston University School of Medicine. All of these goals go to greatly improve the lives of the brave veterans that risked everything for our nation, reduce the unacceptable veteran suicide rate and get our wounded veterans back on their feet.  Please click on the “How it Works” page above to see a detailed description of the Project.

Burning Oil Fields, Fire Trenches and Oil Lakes. Depleted Uranium, PB Pills and Sarin Gas! These are just a few of the exposures our troops endured during the Gulf War.

Gulf War Illness is often misdiagnosed and still gets very little attention from the VA, despite the over 200,000 men and woman diagnosed with this condition.

The most serious symptoms are severe neurological disorders, with the most common being severe fatigue, headaches, dizziness, respiratory disorders and skin conditions.

The causes and reasons are still very much in question, even now after 28 years. The most common belief is the exposure to burning oil wells in Kuwait, close proximity and handling of Depleted Uranium, ingesting of Pyridostigmine (PB) Pills to enhance nerve agent counter measures and even isolated exposures to sarin gas after air strikes on storage bunkers.

Regardless of the cause, we at Veterans Investing started this project to aggressively support further research and treatment for our brave troops that have been afflicted with this debilitating condition.

In 2019, we plan to launch several marketing strategies to highlight attention to the project as well as garner financial support. We are currently trying to secure a “Sponsor” to be the face of the project and bring attention to these efforts.

The more awareness we can bring to Gulf War Project as well as financial sponsorship, the sooner we will realize a cure and or a treatment for Gulf War Illness.

Dr. Sullivan and her amazing research staff at Boston University Medical Center are working tirelessly to realize this goal, we are dedicated to supporting and financing their efforts.
